National Council of Women Societies, USA, is a non profit organization determined to awaken and encourage women in the realization of their responsibilities to their communities, and the nation in general. This organization is open to all Nigerian women resident in the United States of America, Europe and honorable membership.

HISTORY                                                                                                
                                                                                                                                                                                         
National Council of Women Societies USA, was founded by Nigerian women with the aim of bringing women, non-political women organizations together in their important roles as home makers and nation builders. It seeks to create among its members good citizenship. In 2008, National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) USA, was organized in the United States of America. In 2009, it was registered with the State of Colorado in Denver to further the determination of Nigerian women in Diaspora.  NCWS USA is a non political, non religious and non profit organization. 

THE  GUIDE


National Council of Women Societies USA, is a public charity, organized under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to this organization is fully deductible under section 170 of the Code. 

GENESIS
The council was founded with the aim to bring together in USA , Nigerian women in Diaspora with their American and African counterpart to be knowledgeable in the affairs of women and to assist women in Nigeria and America in their important roles as homemakers and nation builders; also to maintain good citizenship with emphasis in improving the lives of women in Nigeria in all its ramifications.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
To promote the welfare and progress of our women in our various communities in various areas (economics, social, education, and health).
To ensure that women are given the opportunity to voice their opinion in nation building.
To stop all cultural practices, demeaning to women and children
To foster relationship with other national and international bodies with similar aims
To encourage friendship among other women organizations in USA, North America, Europe and other women organizations of the world.
NCWS USA acts as a link between Nigerian women in Diaspora, American women with similar interest and women in Nigeria.
NCWS USA will continue to act as an advocate of the Nigerian women in matters affecting women in America, irrespective of the state of origin, religion or country of abode.

FUNCTIONS
NCWS USA will provide platform for disseminating information regarding women affairs like meetings, conferences and publication of news letters. It will send and receive delegates to/from national conferences in Nigeria, USA, Africa and other international bodies. It will hold annual congress/conferences with emphasis on tracking issues affecting women.

NATURE OF THE COUNCIL
NCWS USA is non political, non religious, not for profit non governmental organization (NGO) 
The Motto = Service in Unity.

MEMBERSHIP
Individuals who are Nigerian women or married to Nigerian men can become members. A member can be called to work on issues which the council may deem necessary. Any organization (made up of Nigerian women) in Diaspora irrespective of numerical strength may join the council as full members and will abide by the constitution of NCWS USA. Honorary Membership will be given to deserving women in Diaspora. The annual convention is not limited to members only, but will comprise of men and women from USA and other nations with similar interest.

FINANCE
The revenue of the organization is from annual dues and voluntary donations. Any donations made to NCWS USA is tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

 POLITICS
NCWS USA is a non political, non profit organization, (NGO). Nigerian women in Diasporas are encouraged to participate actively in decision making, especially in affairs affecting women and children.

 PROGRAMS FOR THE COUNCIL 
*Celebration of International women's day, in USA. 
*Attending conferences on women issues in USA and Internationally.
*Free health fair for all with emphasis on prevention.
*Promotion of education especially for women and children.
*Promotion of peace and good neighborliness and great relationship with citizens all over the world.
*NCWS USA will speak up for women regarding domesticating in Nigeria/Africa, international treaties that are in favor of women and children.
*Sending and receiving delegates for conferences involving women.
*NCWS will see that the welfare of our woman regardless of country of abode is maintained.
